Wonderful storybook for young dragon lovers

The Dragon's Child is paperback fantasy story (with a cover cut in the shape of a dragon) for young readers about a flightless dragon child, separated from his mother, and the human children he befriends. Little Dando was hatched late in the season, and his wings haven't formed well enough to fly. His dragon clan is leaving the area forever to find their homeland, and when he falls off his mother's back, he's stranded, all alone except for a friendly bird. When a strange tribe of people comes to colonize the island, Dando befriends a young slave girl among their number - but the irascible son of the chieftain spots Dando and decides to capture him! The terrible humans aren't the only threat though - a pack of vicious animals called Doggins roam the woods, posing a deadly threat to bird, dragon, and humans alike! Little Dando must find the strength within himself to be worthy of his noble dragon name, and save his friends as well as himself - fortunately, he just might get some help from a former enemy's unexpected change of heart! A handful of simple black-and-white illustrations enhance this wonderful storybook for young dragon lovers who are ready to move on from picture books to more involved fare.

Good... but it takes awhile to get there!

My 2nd grade son was very excited to buy this book, but once reading it, he stopped because it was so sad. He asked me to read it first and let him know if it gets better. It does, but it takes awhile to get there! Just when you think things are pretty bad for the poor little dragon... they get worse. Things don't get better until the very end, and even then, the plot could have continued on a bit more.

Good book, but beware for sensitive readers!

The dragon is cute. Great book for 8-year old boys or girls.

The best book available on pranayama technique

In my opinion, this is the best book available anywhere for the serious yoga student who wants to master yogic breathing techniques. It is even better than Light on Pranayama by Iyengar.
The first and third parts of the book focus on some ancient pranayama philosophy, to which Western readers may or may not wish to subscribe. But most of the book is a fabulous practical guide to virtually all the breathing methods. Included as well are proper sitting postures, mudras (hand positions), and bandhas (anatomical locks to maximize results), all well illustrated.
Unlike some books on the subject, this one does not shy away from describing khumbaka, or breath retention. It is the key to controlling the tendency of the mind to jump from thought to thought (although the author warns to attempt khumbaka only with expert guidance).
If you think Yoga is merely an exercise routine, as seen on U.S. TV, this book will take you to the next level. Hatha yoga is more about breathing than stretching. This book can improve your life -- really.

A really good read

I read this book really fast. Yes, the book to me is to short. Or needs to be continued as in a series. She could easily make a sequel.

The story is about a Lorna a college student that is a virgin. She meets 3 incubi, Aiden, Devon, and Sebastian. She spends a night with each men and then goes back to her "normal" life. But I won't tell you the ending. I think the sex scene were good, each different. It starts off vanilla then gradually gets into BDSM and some "other" sex scene.

Overall book was good.

It was written in Lincolnshire c.1136-37 and is, in large part, an Anglo-Norman verse adaptation of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Its narrative covers the period from the sixth century until the death of the Conqueror's son William Rufus in 1100.

This is an important text in historiographic terms, less as an historical source than as an early example of informative literature written in a secular perspective for a predominantly baronial audience. It illustrates the multilingualism and multiculturalism of twelfth-century Anglo-Norman Britain, and shows the descendants of the Norman conquerors seeking to integrate themselves culturally into their adoptive homeland during the 1130s. It also ranks among the earliest extant witnesses of the rise of courtly literature in French, and of named female literary patronage.

This edition offers a critical text of one of the chronicle's four extant manuscripts. There is an introduction placing the poem in its social and literary contexts, followed by the medieval text, edited according to critical interventionist principles and comprising 6532 rhyming octosyllables. A facing modern English prose translation, the first concern of which is accuracy, aims also to convey the tone and style of the original rather than provide a strictly literal rendering of it. The extensive explanatory notes to the text are followed by a bibliography and a complete index of place and personal names.
