Study of Revelation

The Sacra Pagina series on the New Testament is an outstanding reference work for any student of the New Testament. The book on Revelation is by Wilfred Harrington and Daniel Harrington. I was introduced to this series when I took a graduate level course in the New Testament. The professor recommended this series as excellent New Testament reference books. I lead a weekly bible discussion group and I have found this series to be of immense help. I am able to review Revelation line by line and receive the benefit of knowledgeable Catholic bible experts. I may not share the same views as the author on every passage but I can review his analysis and he also points me to other sources. I found Wilfred Harrington's views on universal salvation to be troubling. However, if you needed one book as a guide to Revelation this is it.

Revelation made clear

Wilfrid Harrington has written a clear and enlightening commentary on one of the most difficult books of the Bible. Those who are looking for a commentary that helps with contemporary application of the message of Revelation should definitely consider this one. Some commentaries are so eager to impress that they are unintelligible. This one is scholarly, but, anyone with a serious interest in learning the Bible will find it useful. I highly recommmend it.

This is oneof the Sacred Pagina series which covers the New Testament and Gospels. I do like the commentary, layout, format, clarity and presicion of the book. Cant wait to read the rest of the series!

Great book on a Tiger form, the applications, and the foundation training that makes this art so powerful.

This book blew me away. I have studied this form for many years and now that I have this study aid, I've realized that there is more to learn. The pictures of the Tiger form, the applications, and the basic exercises and stretches speak a thousand words. Great job on the author. I'm glad I purchased this book. It's a great reminder why I practiced martial arts in the first place.

Gary Mah’s book, Hark Fu Kune Black Tiger Fist, seems at first glance to be a specialized work about a specific system of traditional Chinese kung fu. Indeed, he is a longtime student and disciple of Grandmaster Tak Wah Eng, and the centerpiece of the book is a step-by-step guide to the Black Tiger Fist form created by Sifu Tak Wah to showcase the most powerful basic movements and common dynamics of the related Fu Jow Pai and Hung Gar systems. However, this book is very different from the many wordy publications of recent years that describe the history and intricacies of traditional Chinese martial arts styles. Instead, this reminds me of some of the classics published by the Ohara or Tuttle companies in their glory days (such as “How to Develop Chi Power” by William Cheung, and others), in that it’s short on verbose history and theories, and rich with practical information. The first part of the book describes basic stances, drills, and stretches based on the original Fu Jow Pai curriculum, here described and illustrated very clearly and carefully. These are laid out in such as a way as to be an excellent reference for training in basics by a practitioner of ANY Shaolin based kung fu system or classic karate style. The second section is about the form, as mentioned. The third is an excellent breakdown of applications from the form. But the last section on Fundamental Training Exercises truly makes this book invaluable. These 38 straightforward exercises, mostly needing no equipment, carefully selected on the basis of Gary’s knowledge of exercise physiology, comprise a complete foundational conditioning program that builds core strength and helps prevent or alleviate many potential injuries or deviations common to any physically active person. The book is illustrated by many professional photographs clearly depicting each step of each exercise. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, not only to all martial artists, kickboxers, etc., but to anyone looking for a scientifically selected core conditioning supporting any of these pursuits.

A lucid introduction to Deleuze--that might change your life

This is a great, beautiful and timely book. It introduces Deleuze's philosophy by first of all having us think about a problem central to Deleuze's philosophy, the question "How might one live?" From this question, May unfolds Deleuze's ontology of difference and his views of life, thinking, science, language, teaching and politics. The book is compelling and highly accessible-and does something no other book on Deleuze that I know of does-precisely because it gets us to see Deleuze's point not simply through Deleuze's difficult writing and novel concepts, but through a familiar question that each one of us might live. And so May takes us into an enormous and rich field of life, from Prigogine's and Monod's science of chaos and chance, to the Palestinian intifada, to the life of John Coltrane, to life in urban America, to erotics.
Gille Deleuze: An Introduction is a book not simply for the scholar or the student, but for the one who might want to live differently, who might want to see how thinking differently about the world and life can open a different way of living. It might change your life. It might not. It should be read.

A fairly solid introduction to Deleuze...

There are two general introductions to the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze that I feel comfortable recommending to the first time reader of Deleuze. One is this book by Todd May, and the other is Gilles Deleuze (Routledge Critical Thinkers) by Claire Colebrook. In some ways I think that Claire Colebrook's book is slightly more accessible, but they both have different focuses so I recommend reading both.

Todd May structures his interpretation around the question "How might one live?" This is a different question from the one that has traditionally been asked in Western philosophy, "How should I live?" Todd May begins his book on Deleuze by explaining the difference between these two questions, and by relating Deleuze's attempt to answer this question to similar attempts made by philosophers like Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida. Foucault and Derrida ask a similar question but, unlike Deleuze, they consider a general critique of ontology as a necessary first step in opening the possibility of asking such a question. It is ontology, and metaphysics, which attempts to determine the essence of beings, as well as their possibilities, which tends to stifle the question "How might one live?" since one's possibilities are already determined by one's essence. Deleuze does not reject ontology, but attempts to work out an ontology that allows for the possibility of the new, and creative transformation.

This leads Deleuze to prioritize difference over identity. This is actually one of the more difficult aspects of Deleuze's philosophy to grasp because it is one of Deleuze's contentions that representation is incapable of grasping difference in itself. Representation always subordinates difference to identity and the identity of the concept. Traditional ontology begins, for example, with the highest generalities (genus) and determines them through difference (species) until it reaches the individual. In other words, it works from the top down, and in so doing subordinates difference to the identity of the concept. Deleuze's ontology works from the bottom up by starting with pure differences which lie behind the processes of individuation and speciation. These differences, however, cannot be represented since representation lives in the element of the concept.

Todd May comes up with what I think is a good analogy for how it is still possible to talk about difference despite the fact that it escapes representation. Todd May argues that Deleuze attempts to palpate difference. I actually had to look up the term, as it was not a term I was familiar with, but it is the method that doctors use when they try to determine the size, shape, firmness and location of something by pressing on an area of the body. This is what the doctor is doing, apparently, when they press on your abdomen and ask you where it hurts. Deleuze is doing something similar. Deleuze is attempting to see difference by tracing the effects it has on the world with which we are all familiar. Palpation seems to me to be a good analogy for what is usually called the transcendental method of argumentation. You cannot see something directly, but we can infer its existence through its effects.

Todd May uses his guiding question, "How might one live?" as an organizing principle as he makes his way through Deleuze's interpretations of Spinoza, Bergson, Nietzsche, philosophy, science, language, and politics, and also attempts to explain how difference is present within all of these fields, and the effects difference has in all of these fields. All in all I would say this is a very successful introduction to one of the most important philosophers of the previous century.

As someone who is well-versed in Foucault, less so in Deleuze (and not at all in Derrida), I found the first chapter of this book to be a lovely simple yet fruitful little exposition situating these three titans of contemporary French philosophy as three distinctive responses to the Nietzschean legacy. Further, May helpfully distinguishes Deleuze in a way that separates him from Foucault/Derrida on the question of ontology. Creation Cries Out! is the first book of the Original Revelation Series, a series of profound inspired truth that will, Yahweh willing, change your life forever.

Rav Shaul displays a unique understanding of the Mysteries our Creator hid inside His Word for His children to discover if they would seek Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

This author communicates the truth unlike any other teacher of the Bible you will ever read. His grasp of Israel, the Covenants Yahweh made with creation, the "New Covenant", Yahweh's plan of Salvation as revealed from Genisis to Revelation is not matched by any other author or teacher of the Word of Yahweh to date. This teacher is a shepherd leading the Sheep of Israel through the Narrow gate in these last days before Yahshua our Messiah returns..make no mistake about it.

You will be challenged. This series is not for the faint of heart or for those wanting to hold tight to the traditions of man. This series is for serious seekers of Yahweh's truth ONLY.

Signs In The Stars.

Creation Cries out is a fascinating study on the subject of the Mazzaroth or Zodiac from a Scriptural view point.
The subject is controversial and other books have been written about it, but this book differs in it's readability and easily comprehended points.
Very well done!

Among the topics I think Rav Sha'ul explained so well are:
* The connection of major signs with the Tribes of Israel.
* Explaining the Wheels of Ezekiel.
* What the "Heavenly Scroll" of Revelation is.
* A relationship between the Enoch Zodiak and the tribal symbols of Israel.
* An explanation of what the "golden calf" was and it's context in that era of history.
* A new definition of "The Way" and also "ephod."

This book goes a long way in clearing up some obscure passages of Scripture like Psalms 19.
I believe that there are some passages in Scripture that aren't clear at first glance. Maybe they are meant to spur a search for truth that isn't always readily apparent. There were a lot of "so that's what that means" moments for me reading this book.
The author makes a strong, sensible argument that there righteous uses of the Mazzaroth in Scripture. He also describes how some righteous activities became perverted.

I really enjoyed reading this book and will probably buy more of this author's books.
What I appreciate the most are views I haven't read of before and everything is investigated in Scriptural context.
Highly recommended.

Wow! Rav Sha'ul explains Ezekiel's "four wheels within a wheel" so perfectly. This book leaves no doubt in the reader's mind that the Zodiac (Heavenly Scroll) is Yahuah's plan for man's salvation and the return of Yahusha The Messiah. Brilliant read!

Hagestad explores the chinese hacking culture,their military doctrine for hacking, the history of such methods and recent attacks. The book is very rich providing information in how China is using the Cyberspace in order to virtually conquer and attack every nation they desire.

The book is very thorough and specific in the subject. The book can be a little redundant in some aspects and subjects, some chapters may be seen a bit unstructured, but is no big deal, the book is intended to serve as a guide about chinese cyber warfare and clearly send a message.

Facebook is a tricky beast to tame when it comes to marketing and sales. The reason is because there are plenty of prospects, but not a clear path as to how best to reach them with marketing. You have a wonderful product and all of these people but need someone to show you how to get your product the sales it deserves.

That is where this book hits a home run. With step by step instructions and explanations of exactly the theory behind how Facebook works and how you can exploit it for all its worth. This book is a masterpiece and something anyone looking to do marketing and sales on Facebook must read!
